Vermont nursing deadlines depend on the credential
Vermont nursing licenses are valid for fixed two-year periods, but RN, APRN, LPN and LNA credentials do not share one expiration date. Always confirm the date printed on the license or shown in Find a Professional.
Important for July 2026: the ordinary January 31, 2026 LPN deadline has passed. RN and APRN licenses follow the March 31 odd-year cycle, so their next ordinary renewal is March 31, 2027. LNA licenses are scheduled for November 30, 2026.

Search the live status immediately. An expired LPN should use the late-renewal or reinstatement route and must not rely on a submitted payment as proof of authority.

Late-renewal penalty fees can sometimes be waived when the applicant did not practise in Vermont during the lapse. A waiver must be requested through the online licensing system and is not automatic.
